"the last hammer breaks the last chain"
Oct. 19th, 2007 05:22 pmhi! this is midterms week and i just took a midterm this morning.
i am going to vcon on saturday and sunday, but today i am going to stay home and read stuff. classically, an airplane crashed into richmond? today, next to where vcon was last year. my dad thinks i might have trouble traveling, but that doesn't daunt me, i am just lazy.
(citizens, i am thinking about how neat it would be to have a version of tex2img output pdfs for printing, so i could just sit in "homeworktex" and do homework and print it out without having to copy it to a file on ganymede and run tex on it here. also this "homeworktex" could comprehend more than one page and the dimensions would be more pagelike. but maybe this would be too much effort for a small result. after all, if i copy things locally, it prevents me from losing them.)
i am doing ok but not great in coursework.
would anyone like to try to tour someone the internet thinks is one of canada's greatest living typographers' studio? he does letterpress. it's in new westminster.
also to anyone who likes william gibson in vancouver, the vancouver writers' festival is having a raffle for a signed copy of spook country at their bookstore on granville island. you have to successfully answer the question, "what is william gibson's name?"? i mean it's a raffle for a mystery author's new novel um. i can type periods again without mushing the button down, hooray hooray. i just started being able to while writing this very same paragraph. ohohohohohoho.
there is a little bit of math content (a neat function that i made up for real variables course, madcap_tenor's thing that
(i decided this was true; i forget why), complementary beatty sequences - just google them) but i don't have time to type it up.
