[edit: at marine and gallagher i saw a guy and a kid in a little pale green car drive down marine drive, come back, drive down another street, come back, drive up marine drive, stop beside the bus stop, make a u-turn, come back, drive down the second street again, get honked at, make another u-turn, come back, and drive down the first street again and not come back that time (for a while). it was like 10 am.]

After the success of "I Love Bees" and Year Zero, at what point does viral marketing cross the line into hoax territory? After a while, how will we believe anything extraordinary we see with our own eyes? I'm afraid that, in five years, I'm going to wake up to the sight of tanks rumbling down my street and military shootouts taking place between houses on my block, and the first thing that comes to mind is "huh, I guess the new Tom Clancy game is out."
