biography and coming out as trans
Feb. 17th, 2007 11:28 pmHi! I want to talk about transitioning stuff on here, so: I'm transitioning from male to female. I've been out everywhere except on the Internet for a month and everyone has been awesome :D
Or wait, I haven't come out to Elise yet. Hi Elise!
I haven't talked about myself at all on this Interweb, so here's a biography for everyone who cares. I'm Hannah Cairns, 24. I live in Vancouver, Canada. I'm originally from Seattle, but we moved around a lot when I was growing up; once we drove from Toronto to Vancouver, which took 13 days. Gah. I still cannot stand McDonalds food. In grade 8 (age 11 - i was a year advanced) I broke down or something (my memory is bad) and dropped out of high school. I spent the rest of my adolescence in some really neat alternative schools.
I am a slacker and I have no social or salable skills, but my parents are nice and let me stay at home. I suck :P
I'm obsessed with mathematics and I've been doing it most of my life. I really like it a lot. I know it better than anything else. I started with Isaac Asimov's book "The Realm of Numbers," I think. If you're trying to teach your kids math, you could try it :) If I can get it together enough to apply to UBC, I can probably go there this autumn, as a woman no less :3
That's me, pretty much. Here is a picture of me with Pi and the AGM. So hard! Also, here is a photo that shows my head.
Um, so if you have any questions about this, feel free to ask in comments. I'm really happy and I'm having a great time, except for when I'm not. ^_^
